Our Opportunity

Based in our Cremorne Head Office, our Buying Assistant - Accessories (Beauty & Gift category) position proactively supports the product development cycle and is an integral role within the team and business. 

You will be working closely and building strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders and will display initiative in supporting and partnering with the Buyer to improve the financial results of the business and achieve overall business objectives. 

Along with your keen fashion sense and LOVE of beauty, your strong administrative and organisational capabilities will help you hit the ground running across each part of this fast paced and hands-on role.

You will be assisting with the product development process, maintaining and developing effective supplier relationships and working closely with other departments across the Sportsgirl brand, all whilst continually learning and developing in this space.  

Your day-to-day will include:

• End to end Administration associated with the effective management of your category
• Management and preparation of weekly sales reports, products, merchandise rack, product analysis etc
• Effective sample management
• Monitor current WIP and updating suppliers
• Demonstrate an understanding of fashion trends aligned to the Sportsgirl
• Communicate creative input and innovation for product development
• Maintain and develop effective supplier relationships and prepare for all supplier meetings
• Maintain effective communication with all other departments

To be successful in this role, you must have:

• Fashion/Design/Merchandising diploma or Business/Commerce degree
• Previous experience as a Buying Assistant in a fashion retail environment (accessories/beauty) desirable
• Strong administrative skills
• A LOVE for beauty and product, and a passion to grow in this field
• Sound knowledge and proficiency in MS Suite 
• Strong time management and planning skills
• A proactive, collaborative and adaptable nature
